Kirsten may coach Mumbai Indians from next IPL season

After his successful stint with Team India, coach Gary Kirsten’s next assignment could be with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to sources, Kirsten will not be joining the Sachin Tendulkar-led team this season, but he has been lined up for the job next year.

The Mumbai Indians have already engaged former South African pacer Shaun Pollock as their mentor-cum-bowling coach this season. “MI are in touch with Kirsten and he may join the team next year,” a source told TOI.

Kirsten has already given his resignation letter to the cricket board, but sources said the players were still trying to get him to change his mind.
